“No matter how busy we are, yoga provides a chance to release the tension from our bodies, which then releases the noise from our minds. This is where the peace, awareness, stillness and space are found. I love to watch my mind on the way in to yoga class, full of to-dos, schedules, obligations and expectations. Then I marvel at the shift in awareness after class is over. Life seems suddenly doable, manageable. It’s going to be okay! ” - Allison
Allison’s classes have a wonderful classic feel to them. Her flow
sequencing is intelligent and challenging, without leaving you feeling overwhelmed by pretzel moves. She has the ability to encourage the class to push to their physical edge while listening to the body at the same time. In this class, you will find an opportunity to relinquish stress and open up to more awareness. Allison likes the classroom very warm about 90 degrees. She plays a rockin’ soundtrack of (mostly) retro tunes that include U2, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, Annie Lennox and Eddie Vedder.
Allison received her 200 hours of training through Hot Yoga in Washington D.C. in June 2007. Her training was specifically Power Flow/Vinyasa style yoga.
Allison is married with two daughters; Grace is 6 and Olivia is 3. Her family recently moved to Pleasanton from the East Coast. She enjoys hiking, tennis, and biking, but when time is limited, she scales it all down to yoga practice. No matter whether her house is in disarray and her world is crazy, she always carves out time for herself and her yoga practice.
