“One of the beautiful things about yoga is that we were given all the physical tools we need to practice yoga and we get the opportunity to cultivate our intentions of health, dedication, kindness and inspiration.” Betsy

It’s nearly impossible to have a conversation about yoga in besty pic1Livermore with out Betsy’s name popping up. Betsy has been offering classes to the Livermore community for over 10 years. Betsy’s classes are warm and welcoming and she brings a sense of security to the students as they explore their bodies. On one hand, Betsy fits the description of the grandma she is; nurturing, welcoming and supportive. Then, when you meet her it’s hard to imagine her as a grandma! She is full of vitality, energy, strength and youth. Betsy always leads her classes to their edge, providing a challenge and a crescendo before easing into deep relaxation. Her class is moderately warm.

Betsy started doing yoga with her mother when she was only 10 years old. She did her formal training with Lex Gilliam and Ray Lynn Rath at the Yoga Institute in New Mexico - Houston and received her 500 hour National Certification in 1994. She has studied Standing Wave Yoga in Harbin Hotsprings community in Middleton, CA. with besty pic2Satay, Thai yoga with Tim Holt, Watasu with Harold Dull and Forrest Yoga with Ana Forrest. Betsy is also an amazing massage therapist and brings her knowledge of the human form to her teaching.

Betsy lives a full and active life, spending hours every weekend hiking and enjoying nature. She also adores her 4 sons, 4 grandkids and spends much of her free time with them. Betsy proves that yoga is an effective tool to use through every phase of life and her love for the practice is evident.
