“For me, the practice of yoga has always been learning how to be comfortable with being uncomfortable, on and off the mat.” - Gloria
Gloria encapsulates her 17+ years of teaching experience into every class she teaches. She is authoritative and kind, looking out for her students and encouraging them to try new things. Her style is unique, blending different training and techniques, often reflecting her strong background in Kripalu style yoga. Kripalu is the yoga of compassion; how you’re feeling is as important as what you’re feeling, and this philosophy comes alive in her classes. She has an amazing ability to help her students learn new postures, but her emphasis in class is not at all goal oriented. She puts her students on a yoga path, teaching them dedication to the practice and a comprehensive understanding of yoga. Her
classroom is not overheated, not cool, usually about 80 degrees. She varies her music, sometimes opting out of tunes, and sometimes playing music from the Indian genre. Gloria has a strong following of beautiful students and her classes are informative, inspiring and fun!
Gloria is a certified 500-hour Kripalu Instructor. She has studied with dozens of teachers, some of her favorites include: Angela Farmer, Sarah Powers, Rod Stryker, Rodney Yee, and Stephen Cope. Gloria is a co-founder and former director of Teacher Training at the Yoga Company in San Ramon. Gloria leads retreats around the world and workshops around the bay area. Check out her website
